Mike Pinette

An exploration of lines on paper, of patterns and the cyclical nature of the world. Art is often a collision of coincidences and an insatiable ardor for life. An ode to wonder and the capturing of a moment in time. An adventure into the imagination of reality.

Mike Pinette creates masterful works of art by putting pen to paper. Lines and dots become epic landscapes and portraits of the natural world. Since he was a child he was enthralled by nature, mesmerized by the patterns in leaves, the blooming of flowers, the rhythm of the waves.

His murals utilizing acrylic paints draw you in and hold you there. Despite their tremendous stature, one never feels small in the gaze of his work. Rather you begin to feel deeply connected to not only the mural but everything that surrounds you. Your body and soul receiving every brush stroke, allowing yourself to feel adrift in possibility.

Mike’s pieces are not only created with immeasurable talent and attention to detail, but a giving heart. He creates not just for the way it quiets his mind or the ability to hold a time and place for eternity. He creates in order to remind people of their innate connection to our wild earth.

He completed art residencies in Central and South America and has collaborated with non-profits that protect this land we all call home. Every piece plays with the elements. Earth, water, fire and air all expertly woven. You can see the influence of Central and South American culture interlaced throughout his collection. Plants and animals from countries that are rich in history and stories. Within each artwork there is an uncanny movement created in the way he wields the lines and dots on the blank paper. As you look upon his pieces they seem to sway and breathe, captivating and peaceful all at once. Every piece is vividly alive.

Mike is an expert of composition, a thoughtful observer and listener. His keen abilities to be present with both people and the environment allow him to produce art that becomes transcendental. He is a creator and protector of beauty. His work, a coming home to the simple treasures that exist in the everyday. A seeing with new eyes.
