Sea by Land Studio is the creative home of Mike and Julia Pinette. Mike creates site-specific murals and original artwork for hospitality, wellness, workplaces and private spaces. Julia’s work continues through Anima Ventus, where she offers intuitive readings and sound-based practices. This site holds Mike’s mural work and the wider studio practice around it: drawing, symbols, place, and the slow work of making something that belongs where it lives.
We built Sea by Land together, but the work has taken clearer shapes over time. Mike leads the murals, painting and visual work. Julia leads Anima Ventus. We still meet in the place that started it, paying attention to what a person or a room is asking for. For mural clients, you’ll work directly with Mike from the first wall photograph through the final coat.

A wall changes a room before anyone says a word. My part is to listen to the architecture, the light and the people who move through it, then make something that feels as though it belongs there. The process is practical. We begin with the space, agree on the design, and paint only when the work is right on paper.
The murals, drawings and visual systems come from the same hand, so the work holds together from the first sketch to the finished space.
The building, light, surface and people using the room shape the work. Nothing is dropped onto the wall from a catalogue.
You work directly with Mike. Decisions stay close to the wall, the timeline and the people responsible for the space.
Design approvals, access and painting dates are agreed before work begins. You know what is happening and when.
