We make work by paying attention.

To the wall, the light, the people who pass it every day, and the feeling already present in a room.
‍
A surface tells you what it can hold. The job is to listen before making a mark.
‍
We’re interested in work that belongs where it lives.
‍
A mural should change how a room is remembered.
A website should sound like the people behind it.
An identity should make recognition easier.
‍
We use pattern, repetition, symbols and ordinary materials because meaning is often built from small things placed carefully.
‍
Some people experience the work as calm. Others see movement, memory or something they can’t quite name. We don’t need everyone to agree on the meaning for the work to be alive.
‍
We make directly, sometimes slowly, and in conversation with the people who will live beside the work.
We care about the photograph.
We care more about the room on a Tuesday after the photograph has been taken.

The work begins with attention.
A wall, a sheet of paper, a screen.
